Online success guaranteed no matter what you do!

Whenever I see an ad like this or a rejoinder I am reminded of the pre-web spam adverts which used to litter popular papers which promised you would make money no matter if you were no good at selling or even if you had no product to sell (I kid you not!) provided you forked out some of your hard earned loot to buy whatever course they were selling you.
In the more enlightened, sophisticated days of the web adverts like this have proliferated on the principle (I guess) that since it’s cheaper to post them online and more persistent to flood everyone’s inbox with emails that promote rubbish then there is no point in not doing it. They go along the lines of you can make money selling, guaranteed, even if you are crap at selling and have no product to sell and don’t even have a website (which makes me wonder what I am doing wrong holding down a job).
The fact is that online success is no more guaranteed than it is offline. In any given week I come across several different business types and business models, some needing advice and others simply looking for affirmation that online they are working the way they should be and, in each successful case, the underlying principle is the same: a good idea married to a good system, backed by a lot of hard work.
There is no risk-free business. Whether you work offline or online the risks are always there. To succeed however you do need to have some ingredients which are shared by some of the most successful business I see:
  • Professional organization (even if the whole company is you, if you cannot put on a business hat the moment your professional day starts you are heading for trouble)
  • A clearly understood business model
  • A plan on how the business will move forward
  • A willingness to put in the time and effort
Success is a formula which requires as many ingredients to work as Sephardic chicken soup. These four however are at the core of every successful business I see irrespective of whether it is a solely online one, an offline one or a mix of the two.
Putting them in place never guarantees success but it goes a long way towards preparing you to succeed and it makes you more than capable to meet anything which comes your way. If you are working online and are looking for a measure of certainty in what you are doing, then SEO Help is designed to give you the steps you need to take and their rationale. The rest is entirely up to you.
