You know I taped the video because I have seen time after time, year after year business fail. They failed even after I gave them the tools to succeed. They failed even after they had an idea which had great potential. They failed even after they had a product or a service which addressed a real need. They failed, most of them, without really understanding why. Blaming, as they went down, lack of funds, lack of luck, lack of things which seemed practical, material and which, ultimately, they may have needed but which were not truly what broke them.
It begs the question, of course. What did they need? What was missing?
Truth is that what really makes business work, what helps an online business go from zero to hero is a belief, an unshakeable, deep belief in what they are doing and its ramifications and effects way beyond the moment.
The most successful company on the planet, right now, is Google. Yet, at the very beginning of their journey, when everything seemed promising but so hugely uncertain they had the chance to simply sell their technology for many zeros. More than any college student had seen ever. Had they not decided that their dream and their passion for a different world was worth fighting for, today, online business and working on the web would definitely be different.
