Heading Help My SEO we get emails from webmasters from all over the world complaining that they first used an SEO company to help them optimise their websites and the results were so poor that they decided to try doing it themselves.

Usually this entails a long trawl through various webmaster forums where they have to ask questions and pool knowledge and experiences from other webmasters who are now in the same boat. Then they have to try and understand how what they have learnt regarding optimisation applies to their website and what they need to do in order to rectify faults they uncover.

It is a long-winded, arduous process with many false starts and many starts and stops and it takes a long time to get right, which is why, I guess, we get all these emails (21 just today) each day. Many are full of horror stories regarding SEO companies which take anything between $400 and $2000 each month to deliver reports on Google PPC and telling the client how great the site is performing while, at the same time, organically, it simply is nowhere to be seen on the organic search engine page results (SERPs).

It’s very easy to point the finger here and accuse. The fact is that SEO work, logical as it may be, is not clear to many people and, as a result, there are start-up companies who enter the arena ill-prepared and therefore are unable to offer the best service possible for their clients.

Usually one of two things happen here. Either the SEO company in question begins to understand what it is doing and uses its clients’ websites to get better and better and eventually succeeds or, simply goes out of business as it sees its client base melt away as they are unable to deliver on the SEO promises they make.

Either way what you lose (and this is also true with the go-it-alone route above) is time. By trying to learn all the SEO Basics and then the SEO Essentials yourself and apply them you lose time. Time during which you lose sales. Time during which your competitors forge ahead, time during which your business model should be evolving.

This is what you gain through Help My SEO. You gain precious time and effort and this can then be translated into sales and money and success.

So, keep on reading, accessing the articles and applying the SEO tips and hints we give you. Keep optimizing your websites and keep on sending us your emails with SEO success stories as well as SEO horror stories. We might even start to print some of them here.
