With Facebook these days change is a constant you need to get used to. No sooner do you get used to one type of Facebook Page format and they change it. The latest changes which came into effect at the tail end of last week are that Facebook Fan pages are now like Facebook profiles in appearance (with the usual row of photographs along the top) and Facebook now allows you to interact with Facebook as a Page rather than an individual user who ran that Facebook Page.
The ability to ‘Use Facebook as Page’ unlocks many of the social marketing features which Facebook hitherto reserved only for individual profile pages. This means that you can now ‘Like’ other Pages as your Facebook Page (useful for forging alliances and gaining online exposure) and you can comment on posts as your Facebook Page which is a great way of getting more fans to join you.

What you cannot do is post on the Wall of individuals or Facebook Pages like you do as an individual, unless, of course, they have set their permission settings to ‘Everyone’ in which case it would be fine. Try out the new Facebook Page features but don’t get too comfortable. Given Facebook’s track record I can guarantee that there will be more changes before the year is out.

In the technology work meltdowns are a problem. Because global service providers provide vital services for hundreds of thousands of clients, in different countries and across time zones, the traditional means of communicating with them are no longer viable.
