Writing is a tough business. Irrespective of how good you get or how high you climb you are only as good as your last book, article or poem and this makes for a lot of self-questioning, anxiety and soul-searching for authors.
Online Marketing Help hit the bookshelves on January 12th and there had been about a month of pre-publicity prior to that. Like the other books in the Online Success Series its format is practical, with step-by-step instructions and it is intended to be a vital aid for the new webmaster struggling for time, wanting to market their website and uncertain in which direction to go and what to do.
Intentions however are only as good as the final result. Every book takes a lot of time, effort and perseverance and once the dust has cleared you’re never quite sure, as an author, if you have really hit the mark or if it is something which has become a near-hit. The ultimate judge of every effort in writing is the end-user. Readers, however harsh their criticism may be, are actually a writer’s best guide on how he is doing.
It’s still early days yet and Online Marketing Help has some way to go. I have received a few dozen emails from readers who sometimes ask for some additional data and some from those who want to express their enthusiasm. It is also great to see that some of those who read the book now feel confident enough to remark upon it on Amazon.
One reader called
Online Marketing Help an “
Amazing Resource” whilst another remarked upon a feature of the book which makes it complementary to
SEO Help, namely the fact that
Online Marketing Activities and the effort to increase search ranking are now converging in what is one of the most revolutionary perhaps changes happening to SEO and internet marketing in 2011.
Every book, of course, is part of what ironically is an unwritten contract between the writer and the reader. The latter comes to the book with a set of fully formed expectation and it is hoped that the former will be able to meet them and perhaps exceed them. When that happens the result is often the greatest reward a writer can have, especially when the subject is
practical how-to business books that take the uncertainty out of your online marketing and give you the practical tools you need to really win.
