SEO right now is where computers used to be towards the late 80s in the last century. They were noticeable by their presence and everyone had to train up on them. Computers then became invisible, embedded everywhere and part of the fabric of life. For the Y generation they were a natural extension of everything and practically everyone in it was computer literate.
SEO is just the same. It is a necessity for everyone who needs to be found online. Everyone who has a business or a website dabbles in SEO because it is the only natural thing to do in order to organically promote their business to the online audience they hope to reach.
